Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)

PoolPak® is proud to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society again this year!

The Light the Night walk is on Friday October 5, 2018 at the John Wright Restaurant in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. We are starting to plan for our 3rd annual golf tournament. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 29, at Heritage Hills Golf Course in York, PA.

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer. They are the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers. Since 1949, they have invested more than $1.2 billion in groundbreaking research, pioneering many of today’s most innovative approaches. They have provided free information, support services and financial assistance to over 30,000 people last year. Their nationwide grassroots network of more than 100,000 volunteers advocate for state and federal policies that benefit patients.

PoolPak® raised over $6,600 for the 2017 campaign.

This year PoolPak® raised over $6,600 in funds for the LLS campaign and had a lot of fun doing it. The Light The Night Walk was held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the John Wright restaurant in Wrightsville, PA. We’d like to thank everyone who participated in fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and/or the Light the Night Walk in 2017! Team PoolPak® has been recognized as the Third Highest Fundraising corporate team in 2017, and we couldn’t have done that without the help of all our employees! We’re so please to have been able to donate over $6,600!

LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Its mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and family members. Currently there are no means of prevention or early screening for most blood cancers; however, LLS research is focused on finding cures. LLS identifies and funds the most promising blood cancer research projects and forges partnerships with academic institutions, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to accelerate the development of new therapies.

We exceeded our goal for the 2016 campaign.

Our goal was to reach $10,000 in donations by the end of this year. Thanks to the Light The Night Walk on October 14, 2016 in Wrightsville, PA, we exceeded that goal and raised over $10,000 for LLS. PoolPak® came in second place in funds that were raised in the York/Lancaster area, with record donations from our efforts. The weather for the walk was wonderful and PoolPak® was joined by many other local businesses, friends, and families who were there to support LLS as well.

The Light The Night Walk funds lifesaving research and support for people battling cancer. Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams, and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational, memorable evening walks in nearly two hundred communities each fall across North America. The first annual PoolPak® charity golf tournament raised over $7,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS).

The first annual PoolPak® charity golf tournament raised over $7,000 in donations.

Our first annual charity fundraising golf tournament was held at Valley Green Golf Course in Etters, PA on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Many employees were in attendance and the event was a big success. We had nearly 75 wonderful donors who donated money to support the cause and gifts like door prizes and silent auction items. Some of our top donors included Critical Systems, White Rose Bar & Grill, Portrait Innovations, the Mario Lemieuz Foundation, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Philadelphia Flyers, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, some local wineries, and many many more. Our top event sponsors include Carel USA, Super Radiator Coils, JLE Consultants, IVRI, and many of our vendors and suppliers. The first place team consisted of Lance Fisher and Steve Fisher, both from PoolPak®, and Jim Doyle and Scott Saffin (pictured above). They each won $50, a round of golf at Valley Green Golf Course, and a sleeve of MOJO golf balls.
